The Singapore government has recently announced new payouts to support its citizens amidst the ongoing economic challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. This move is part of the government’s efforts to provide relief and assistance to its people during these uncertain times.

The first payout, called the SIRS (COVID-19 Support Grant), will provide financial support to lower-income individuals who have been affected by the pandemic. Eligible individuals will receive up to $800 for three months, helping them meet their basic needs and cope with the economic impact of COVID-19.

The second payout, known as the COVID-19 Recovery Grant (CRG), will provide financial support to individuals who have lost their jobs or faced significant income loss due to the pandemic. This grant will provide a monthly payout of up to $800 for three months, with the option to extend for an additional three months. On top of these payouts, the government has also announced an additional $8 billion in financial support measures, including property tax rebates, rental waivers, and cash assistance for local businesses.
